Don't let the decor fool you. If you want great Mexican food, go here and eat. Outstanding food and generous portions.

Food is just okay, nothing special. Service is slow. I would say this is not big group friendly with credit cards. They can only do an even split up to 4 cards. Drinks were decent. Just nothing really to go out of the way for, especially when there are so many great restaurants in that area.

The food here is really good. Tacos, menudo, and lots of other dishes. I really like the smoky sauce they make. They raised prices not to long ago but didn't upgrade the interior space and the service there is generally inconsistent. The wait staff often gets small parts of orders wrong and sometimes seem to take a while getting something you ask for after an order is put in.

This place was ORIGINALLY in Pilsen. My family, fiancé and I would go to the original for years. We were extremely sadden that they moved to the West Loop. This place was always special. Tried the new spot and it's still good. It hasn't changed much. The food has always been good. I just hope it doesn't lose its full authenticity.

Good food at reasonable price

Food servings are large and tasty. Staff were attentive. Decor is a bit dated. Doesn't have many people visit during winter weeknights.

One of the last old Randolph st restaurants left. Hopefully they can survive. Great classics here. It can get busy at lunch so go a little early or late.

AWSOME!!! The food is very authentic. Our family has been to Mexico, Texas and Arizona many times and the food at Perez is as good or better tasting than most. Anyone who rates this restaurant lower than 4 stars clearly does not know what authentic Mexican food is, period. Please open up somewhere else, I travel 25 miles to see my kids who live near the restaurant, they ask me where do we want to eat? My response is always PEREZ!!! Thank you, Jose please open up this same type of restaurant again in the city or better yet in the NW suburbs.

Any place with vinyl-covered tablecloths is a winner in my book. Excellent margaritas, and way too much food. Good spicy salsa and chips that they're all too happy to keep coming. Both the sampler plates are enough to share, and offer the newbie a good variety of foods to try.Service is really great. The ambiance is definitely "walk-in freezer" though sitting right by the cash register was surprisingly warm, as though there was an oven directly opposite the wall.

Too expensive. Food was awful. Music sucked. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. Many better options. $15-$20 entrees?? 😒

I've been to Perez a number of times over the past 16 years, and I have to say - the restaurant itself has changed a lot, but the food is still exceptional. Some of the best Mexican food in the city.

This is definitely authentic Mexican with lots of flavor! I have a tomato allergy and they made the guacamole special. Mango margarita with spicy salt was heavenly. Service superb. Will definitely go back!

The chips and salsa are extremely forgettable, but the main dishes were tasty. Drinks were decent. Overall, high prices for what you get. Dinner for two was over $60. It’s really not worth it, to say the least.
